The Transitional SDP Element (EL22TSDPE)

Description
The SDP Gateway Condition that prevented some disabled claimants from claiming UC was revoked on 27th January 2021. The Gateway was put in place to ensure these claimants were not made worse off by claiming UC as they would have lost entitlement to the Severe Disability Premium.

Instead many should now receive a Transitional SDP Element in their Max UC amount when their UC is assessed.

This E-Learning course will take you through which claimants are entitled to this Element, how much and how a change in circumstances can 'erode' it or end it altogether. As well as particular issues for couples and those awarded PIP after their claim for UC

Aimed at: Housing professionals, and advisers working with benefit claimants.

With a quick final quiz at the end so you can test yourself on what you have learned.

A basic knowledge of Universal Credit is assumed.

This E-Learning course will take approx 120 mins to complete.
